Music, beauty and perception

Hippie surgeryI’ve been getting into my new age music a little recently. By new age, I’m not talking about a little bit of twinkly music, I ‘m talking about full on hug-a-tree stuff. I’ve event booked tickets to this meditation concert here. The venue is big, and I’ve heard of the Swamiji who plays and he does sound amazing. The weird thing is, this has come on all of a sudden. I don’t feel like it’s a phase, but I can’t be sure because I’m in it right now, so I’ll only know its a phase when and if it passes. I don’t think that this one is going to pass however, I think it is here to stay. I’ve started listening to Cd’s of people chanting and I’ve this urge to learn to play the flute or sitar. So while all this is happening, my girlfriend has decided that she wants to go and have cosmetic surgery! Seriously though, the timing is just so wrong.

I don’t think I’ve ever been pro changing your body, but having said that as a man I know few people who would knock their girlfriend for wanting to have breast enlargements. Now a few months ago, I probably would have given her a lift to the clinic. My sense of beauty though has changed. I no longer think that being blond and busty is the be all and end all. (more…)

Are we in a loop - is originality an illusion?

I’ve just read an old blog written by a friend called lat bit of the festival when he was in Edinburgh in 2005. It is wonderfully old in it’s style and format – blogging has moved on a long way since then and the way in which we write and communicate has changed in only a few short years; yet at the same time contextually things haven’t really changed at all. Some things are wonderfully old – I love the fact that he has entitled it “Lat bit of the festival…” instead of ‘LAST bit…” because back then spellcheckers were restricted to programs like word and it was unheard of to find one included in an online blog writing system. All test with no image – it Is so much easier to add a photo to your blog – yet back then most people would relied mostly on text only.

Destroy your favorite websites!!

Wednesday, March 14th, 2007

Well the new site has gone live, Courthouse Clinic this is the one where kate has done the design. It's good, not as good as some of the other sites I have worked on, my favourites being, site1 and site1.

And that has pretty much dominated all my time; it's only really today that I have started to relax again. This is one of the main reason I haven't been blogging lately, no time. But I'm back and I have a stupid site for you again. This is called http://www.netdisaster.com/ and it great fun. Basically you can destroy a webpage in a number of fantastic ways. It a whole new incarnation of web toys that are much more fun. Make sure you try flower power, paintball, and gun.

LONGHORN

Wednesday, March 14th, 2007

I have just got this in my spam dump. I’m not sure who is disturbuting it, I think it is a perview of Windows new operating system - Longhorn.

Longhorn is being considered a complete new version of the operating system, and the systems are deep in the process of being user tested. However many of the alpha version have been illegally distrbuted onto the net, causing a stir in the Windows enthusiast community. Have a look and see what you think.

CLOSE UPS:

This is an early beta build and may not bear that much resemblance to the final Longhorn product. Bear in mind, a database-based file system, integrated DVD burning, major UI work and lots more are still in the pipeline.

Now for some new sites I stumbled across. Do you need content for your website? have a look here. This is my friends site that he designed to help you sell your home, really it could say you tons of money.

There now. That’s all my news for the day.
